Cialis is a medication used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. The drug is also used to improve the ability to exercise for individuals with pulmonary arterial hypertension. Cialis comes in the form of 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg tablets. Cialis is indicated for adult males aged 18 years old and above. Cialis is the brand name of Tadalafil. Cialis is also available under the name Tadacip.
How does Cialis work?
Cialis belongs to a class of medications known as phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitors. PDE inhibitors treat erectile dysfunction by relaxing the blood vessels and increasing the blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. This increased blood flow may cause an erection. Cialis does not cure erectile function, nor does it increase sexual desire. Tadalafil also does not prevent pregnancy nor does it curb the spread of sexually transmitted diseases such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
Cialis Dosage
For erectile dysfunction
The recommended dosage is 10 mg taken prior to anticipated sexual activity. Should 10 mg not suffice to produce the adequate effect, 20 mg may be taken at least 30 minutes before the sexual activity. The maximum dose frequency is once per day, strictly not more often than once every 24 hours.
For benign prostatic hyperplasia
The recommended dosage is 5 mg taken orally once a day at the same time every day.
How to take it?
For erectile dysfunction
Cialis is ingested orally with or without meals minutes prior to the anticipated sexual activity. Cialis is intended for use prior to anticipated sexual activity only, and not for continuous daily use. For patients who anticipate frequent usage, a once-daily regimen of the lowest dose may be concocted based on patient choice, medical status, and the physician’s judgment. Continued use as a daily regimen should be reassessed periodically.
For benign prostatic hyperplasia
Cialis 5 mg should be taken once daily with or without meals at the same time every day. Tadalafil must be taken exactly as prescribed by the physician. Do not take any more or less of the drug, nor skip doses or stop altogether without the approval of the doctor. Follow all the instructions advised by the doctor or indicated on the prescription label.
